Children always dream of having their perfect bedroom - conjuring up wishes of everything from pretty pink fairy stencils to blue and white stripes matching their favourite football team.
Now youngsters in the West Midlands are being given the chance to create the bedroom of their dreams in a regional competition to win a fantastic decorative bedroom makeover.
The competition has been launched to celebrate the installation of pioneering new 32 canister colour tinting machines at Johnstone's Decorating Centres, in Birmingham , Solihull, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Bloxwich.
The new tinting machines, featuring unique advanced technology, means that DIY enthusiasts and decorators in the West Midlands can now choose from even more decorating options with unprecedented levels of colour matching, opacity, colour retention and vibrancy.
Johnstone's is inviting youngsters to enter the competition by stating what their dream bedroom would be and why they deserve to receive the decorative bedroom makeover.
Decorators Image Styles Ltd, based in Tipton, has volunteered to carry out the decorative makeover free of charge. The company does all aspects of decorating - from bedrooms to complete football stadiums.
Tom Newton, Brand Services Manager at Johnstone's, says: "To mark the installation of these new tinting machines in the West Midlands , we wanted to give something back to the community.
"Children often have the most colourful imaginations so we are inviting them to tell us what colour and design their dream bedroom would be and why they deserve to win it.
"We will be able to find and apply their dream colour using the new 32 canister tinting machines," he added.
Over the past 12 months the company has invested over £2 million to ensure all of its 170 decorator centres across the UK and Ireland are fitted with the new 32 canister tinting machines. This will continue with a roll out programme.
Two hundred new modern pastel shades will be introduced to the range and the new system will support the brand strategy of Johnstone's.
The competition is open to all children under the age of 16 who live in the Wolverhampton, Birmingham , Solihull, Bloxwich or Walsall areas and must be accompanied by written consent from their parents or guardian, giving permission for them to enter the competition. A panel of judges will choose the most deserving entrant.
To be in with a chance of winning, write to us in no more than 100 words, with details of why you deserve to win your dream bedroom makeover. Please also accompany the words with a photograph of your current bedroom and a drawing of how you would like your dream bedroom to look.
Please send your entry to Natalie Greenway, Connect PR, Chubb Buildings , Fryer Street , Wolverhampton , WV1 1HT. Closing date for entries is May 18 th 2007 and terms and conditions apply.
