Leading Black Country law firm, Higgs & Sons has advised Claimar Care Group plc on two further important acquisitions.

Edgbaston-based Claimar, is one of the UK 's foremost suppliers of high calibre care to individuals living in their own homes. Built on a decade of experience, its carers make a profound difference to the lives of elderly, infirm and disabled people.

Claimar's acquisition of Primary Care Services Limited, a training company specialising in the training of healthcare professionals throughout the UK , marks a further expansion and diversification of the company's operations and is intended to ensure that the services offered by Claimar are of the highest quality.

The second deal sees Claimar Care acquire Jemma Care Limited, a provider of domiciliary care services in the North West of England. The deal further strengthens Claimar's presence in this area.

Higgs & Sons put an experienced team in place to handle the latest acquisitions. Led by partner Nick Taylor, the corporate department team included Dam ian Beard, Geoff Kettle and Kate Legg. Jo Walker from the firm's employment department and Peter Coleman, head of Higgs' commercial property department completed the team.

Nick Taylor believes these latest acquisitions are a further demonstration of the strength in depth of Higgs' corporate work: "The corporate department has significant expertise in relation to transactions of this type and size and our work with Claimer has enabled us to develop a niche expertise in the field of domiciliary care.

"Claimar's diversification into the provision of care training services also marks a further expansion in our own expertise within this expanding area," he adds.
