Benefits all round with LPG ATVs

Cheaper fuel bills, reliable power and smooth running country pursuits are just some of the benefits of running ATVs on cleaner burning l iquefied petroleum gas (LPG) , according to the UK 's leading supplier, Calor.

LPG is gaining wide acceptance among farmers and estate managers as a cost-effective option for fuelling ATVs as compared to petrol, LPG powered ATVs are much cheaper to run.

Conversion to LPG is easy, with a standard kit being fitted by ATV dealers. Most Yamaha and Honda models of ATV are suitable for LPG conversions and Calor has formed a working relationship with a number of dealers nationwide who are able to expertly fit the new conversion kits and rigorously test every gas bike to ensure optimum performance. Visit www.lpg-atv.co.uk/atv-dealers.htm to find a dealer in your area.

The conversion kit, suitable comes with a large LPG tank, located under the front bull bar, so releasing valuable carrying space compared to earlier models. The small engine injection (SEI) system uses a microprocessor dedicated to propane powered engines and regulates performance and emissions.

The conversion offers complete flexibility as well as efficiency, due to the advanced LPG bi-fuel technology meaning the ATV can convert to running on petrol at the flick of a switch. In addition, when the ATV is due for renewal, the LPG kit can be transferred to a new bike, providing even more flexibility and economy.

Commercial market manager Sabrina Jackson says: "Calor works closely alongside various dealers across the country and by choosing one of these companies, estate managers and farmers can have full confidence in the quality of the conversion work, the performance of the gas bike and the reliability of the fuel supply."

Additional Benefits

As well as significantly cutting the cost of running ATVs, LPG can save valuable time that would normally be spent travelling to petrol stations to refuel. An onsite Calor LPG bulk tank means that re-fuelling is simple, and the installation, maintenance and topping up is all taken care of by Calor.

LPG is also gaining favour amongst the farming community thanks to its environmental benefits. LPG burns more efficiently and cleanly and provides less carbon emissions than petrol and diesel, has an enviable environmental and safety track record and there are less risks associated with fuel spillages.

Not only that, an additional benefit of using LPG is that the risk of pilfering is reduced as unlike petrol and diesel it cannot be stored in large quantities and LPG cannot be siphoned off from an ATV, further enhancing security.

Rural fuel specialist Calor's long standing relationship with the farming community has been built over 70 years. The company has an established presence and is considered a business partner that develops and implements practical solutions to help customers .
